About

Hi! My name is Emma. I'm 15, and I love books. A LOT. I have always loved books, even when I couldn't read! I remember my favorite book when I was little, The B Book, by Dr. Seuss. I got my parents to read it to me every night until I had it memorized, so I could "read" it too.

I love books because, whenever you want, you can go on mini adventures in your brain. It's also a way to get away from life for a little while. Sometimes I just want to stay home and read! It's how I spend my weekends, summers, and every second of free time I get.

My absolute favorite book of all time is Anne of Green Gables. I don't know what it is, but I just love all the characters and just how happy the book is. I have read this book so much, I'm surprised my copy hasn't fallen apart yet. The whole series is wonderful. It follows Anne throughout her life, and the last two books are about her children, who are every bit as delightful as Anne is.

My favorite genres of books mostly stay in the children's/classics categories. To be quite honest, the adult section of the library scares me. To me, the children's section is to the adult section as the woods are to the jungle. I couldn't go in there without a list of books I want and knowing how those books are organized, or else I'd be overwhelmed. I love the children's section because all the books I love are there. Recently, though, I've run out of books at the library, and I'm still afraid of the adult section.  If you don't know what I mean, go to the nearest Barnes & Nobles or Books-A-Million and take a walk through the teen section. I did that once just to see if I could find any books I'd like, but all I found was vampires and romances. Nothing's wrong with a romance, but I'm not the kind of person who likes loads of it.

So, I guess you could say I'm a kid at heart. (More like an old lady at heart. I love a good classic!) And I'm okay with that. I've found some great children's books that I know lots of grownups will like. I've also read lots of classics that I know kids would love. I'm starting this blog because I LOVE books. It's probably my biggest hobby!
